Andalusia - Granada

After Cordoba, Granada is our next favorite place, mainly due to Alhambra and Flamenco. Even tough the sun is shining, we could see the surrounding mountains of Serra Nevada still fully covered by snow and the temperature was a bit cold. Yet, it was absolutely mesmerized.

Andalusia - Cordoba

The journey then moved to Cordoba, a small town which gaining its reputation as the biggest city in Europe after Vatican city with 600,000 population. And due to its strategic location, Tariq bin Ziyad conquered the city in 711. Since then it was ruled by the Muslims until felt to the hands of Crusade Army in 14th century.

The main attractions in Cordoba are Mesquita de Cordoba or Mesquita de Cathedral according to the locals and Medinat al Zahra.

Cordoba is appreciating most of ancient philosophers and intellectual, but most of the figures are Jewish.

I was so lucky that my conference fee include a "nocturno" (night) visit into the mezquita. Since I was the only person requesting for English guide, the organizer invited my significant half and our mix-miniature too. This is me, Zara and my supervisor, Dr. Maria-Antonia Tarrazon.

Mezquita de Cordoba is also popular as Mesquita de Cathedral because it was build on the site of Roman Catholic Church bought from the early citizens of Cordoba. Later, when Muslim were defeated, the Crusades build many chapels inside the mezquita. It was a controversial issue between the town government and the church but the royal decided to side the bishops. Picture on the right shows the main chapel in the middle of the building, while the left is the mimbar. We did check the qiblat and it is in the right direction.

We went to an archaeological site, Medinat al Zahra, a Muslim town built by Khalifah Abd Rahman II and III towards the end of Muslim ruling.

The first city that we went during our Andalusia working tour is Sevilla (pronounce as seˈβiʎa or se-vi-ya according to my system). This is the beginning of our tracking to the Islamic history in Spain.

North Spain Tour - Cuenca

The old city of Cuenca was developed between a gorge and 2 rivers. We stopped here purposely to view the most photographed house in Cuenca, casa colgada or the hanging house, seized the opportunity of the town being passed during our route. This house is among many houses that built on the cliff of the gorge.

It has been a looooong time since I have updated my blog. I am too occupied with my living (studying) schedule, and have no time to write but ample time for travelling. I still owe myself many entries as this blog serve as my travelling journal. Despite some 'misplaced' of pictures, I decided to fill in the blanks against chronology.

So, during winter break, we went exploring North Spain. However our journey starts from Valencia. Valencia is emmm nice but the main attractions which is different from other part of Spain is the City of Arts and Science, which is worth visiting and it will take most of the time there. Other than that, we are used to the rest.

This entry should be entered long long time ago. I thought I lost the pictures, but in fact it is there, in my external hard disk, never went anywhere. Sigh.

The trip that we made to Den Haag (Dutch)/ The Hague (English) was together with our long tour which started with Italy and ended with Brussels, somewhere during the last spring. Den Haag is what I called as the town of Europe investment centre (we have some informal rule of thumb regarding investment - follow what is Den Haag or Brussels are investing at, then prosperity is at your doorstep) but my husband see it as a doorway to oil and gas expert industry. I agreed with him as most of our family and friends who involved in the industry must have been there many times for training.

Physically, Den Haag reminds me of Vienna. Not because of the architecture, but because most of shops are lining up designers brand, American, British, European, Italy or French from Burberry, Tommy, LV, YSL, you name it. Yet the most touching part of the visit was we found an old mosque which had history of Jewish synagogue. What a beautiful moment as if we were struck by lightning and bolts but standing tall, felt nothing.

Berlin: A family reunion

Family vacation! I met my parents after nearly 3 years not seeing them. I was happy, delighted, crazy, and every emotions surged in me when they came out from the arrival hall. My daughter seen one side of her grandparents for the first time. I took little attention to the places we were visiting (which was totally not me). Luckily Kak Akma´s Berlin handbook was with us. Geneva: The UN headquarters

We don´t know what to expect in Geneva except for good watches. So off we flew without any intention to buy one. Later, we learned that Geneva is out of the ordinary places that attract us except for one thing - the fact that is is the location for many of UN offices.

Everything in Geneva is expensive, from transportation cost, food, clothes and almost everything. The people speak French and little English despite that the town homed many foreigners.

The scenery is beautiful, with mountains and hills, that look up to the famous Lake Geneva - which means we spent most time at the park and let Zara explored her surroundings.

We found antique pairs of barometer and thermometer at a square near to the quay.

Surprisingly, during the last days of spring, the wind is still cold and sent shivers so I had to wrapped Zara in one of her `kain bedung´ but that was not enough. She caught cold immediately that night.

My significant half managed to get himself a Swiss Army cap with Swiss flag branded on it.

Also, we realized that Swiss flag is square instead of rectangular like normal flags do.

I think they are filthy rich due to the fact that they are famous with Swiss bank, so it was not a surprise, they printed their flag on a garbage bag. Wished we can bring that bag home (of course an empty one- duh)

And I also wished we can spent our day just being lazy at the lake.

I like the uniqueness of the `sculpture ´ at the back, wondering what it tries to represent. I should google for it, but at the moment, time is luxury commodity that scarce to me.

We left the town happily, and we were happier to head for the next destination as finally Zara had the opportunity to meet one of her grandparents for the first time.

Quite complicated...but at last tacha!!!

Step 2. Things that people do not know about me....Let be prudent.

1. One day, I would like to adopt children, 2 or 3 of them. I have raised up the idea to my husband and he is not opposed to it.

2. I want more children of my own. The one that I have now is not enough.

3. I try to change my style for many times but end up with the same dark blue jeans and white shirt. I should stop trying anymore.

4. When people met me for the first, they either say I am a snob or talkative. It depends. I will try to make conversation, if fail, I rather read even if it is a nonsense pamphlet.

5. I am fashion blind. I did not care how the matching concepts results as long as I am comfortable.

6. Statement 5 is quite an opposite to me as I was an accountant by qualification and (minimal) practice.

7. At the moment I am thinking about bobbing my hair short like Mrs. Beckham. I am sick of taking care of my long hair but still thinking..(Opinion please)

The trip to Keukenhof was some kind of...how to say, an opportunity rolling in the front door. We went to Netherlands for the second time because of unexpected event. So in the need of killing two birds using one stone, we spared half day to be surrounded by flowers. The smells, the view in nothing that I ever experienced in my life. Even little Zara enjoyed it.

When we reached Antwerp, the weather changed, from the nearing thawing winter to wet winter (aka raining). It was cloudy, so we rushed to visit everything, taking every opportunity to avoid the rain. So these are pictures with less caption.

Aahh, I remember this picture in front of Steen Castle. If you are able to see a small curve on top of the arc, that is SEMINI - the symbol of fertility. According to the information encrypted, women will look up upon it and wish for getting child(ren). But now, it is a symbol of vitality and creativity of Antwerpen. At my back is the statue of Lange Wapper - the water spirit.

Rotterdam

It has been almost two months from the day I came back from the tour. Busy with almost everything, passing another visit, now I am due far behind from updating my travel. So, lets continue. From Amsterdam, we went further south to the famous Rotterdam. Rotterdam is far different from Amsterdam even in distance it is less than an hour train journey.

More people are cycling with this kind of `attachment´ in the front for children and we want one of these too.

The architecture is more modern compared to Amsterdam. We learnt that the town was totally destroyed during WWII.

This is the public library, in a glance more like a cruise ship on land. It is complete with theater, reading area, displays of books, etc etc...

...including this giant chess set.

The unique Cubic House is to promote a unique, free style and flexible living style.

It looks small from the outside, but inside it is a complex complex with many types of apartments and shop outlets.

And a visit to Holand is not complete till you try the wafel - extremely sweet but delicious.

And the best part, we had a chance to meet K Lisa and her daughter, Emma who instantly became a friend to Zara. Thank you everyone especially and thank you to K Akma who gave us all the information we need.

The best of Amsterdam

There are so many things that I like about Amsterdam. The canals give a distinctive view of a city.

Our hotel is located besides a canal, near Leidsenplein. Once we arrived there, we asked a girl, " may you show us how to get to led-zappelin?" She was laughing till she cried. hehehe...We were carried out by the English pronunciation

The first glimpse of Germany

When we arrived at Düsseldorf, it was only 2100, but during winter, it was dark. The journey from the airport to the city center was impressive. Before embarking on the real train, we had to get into sky train! The first ride in our life.

The city is small, combination of both (very) modern and historical old city. It gave us the impression of Amsterdam due to the canal-like river. However, in my non-architect-ly eyes, the building is far different from the Dutch. A nice town to relax and enjoy life. Pharmaceutical-related items like formula milk for children are cheap compared to what we have in Barcelona. I can´t wait for the next trip. Berlin - here we come!

The total land area of the state is 0.44 square km
It is monarchical and ruled by whoever becomes the Bishop of Rome, that is the Pope who is elected.
The economy is dependent on printing industry, production of coins, postage stamps and financial activities plus tourism. It is absolutely non-commercial and the economy is largely supported by the annual tax collected from the Roman Catholic dioceses all over the world. e.
There is no agricultural activity.
100% literate population and the languages spoken are Latin, Italian, French and English.
The ethnic groups that reside in the state are Italians, Swiss and many other nationalities from all over the world.
It is a landlocked country so no coastline.
No natural hazards to Vatican City
All area is urban and total population is about 932. The growth rate of population is approximately 1.15%.
There are not many roadways; most of them are only streets and lanes.
Railways can traverse a maximum of 0.86 km.
Since it is a small state with a small population the crime rate is much higher than Italy and approximately 90% of the cases remain unsolved.
The transport and communication system of Vatican City is well developed.

Rome is big to be explored in short time. According to the tour guide book that we received from the hotel, it is advisable to spend 16 days to indulge in the history, culture and beauty of Rome as a tourist. Each day will take to different route with different theme. 16 DAYS!

Rome is beautiful and historical. Besides good food, the people are friendly and mostly they love children. Most tourists attractions are in walking distance but it covers such a wide area. Once you start, you will be far away from the starting point, even tough the route is planned in circular. Oh ya, souvenirs are cheap, so buy everything you want, it is worth!

Strike, friendly people and ghostly hotel

*Experience of a friend on her stay in one hotel in Athens (Edited)*

There is a hotel named Boston in Athens, located near the Central Station. It is old, very old. I chosed that hotel because it was the first hotel I saw when I arrived from Istanbul via Thessaloniki (north part of Greece) and it was early in the morning. I traveled the whole day. I was worn out and extremely tired. Furthermore that it is next to the main road.

That old man (..I remember he ´did´ look like that... ).. bold head, stared directly into your eyes... as if passing through our body. He was the receptionist, had a very weird complexion. It was June and the old man was wearing white thin shirt. I remembered well that he never stayed at the counter and I needed to press the bell. Everytime I went in or out, the bell rang without nobody pressing it. I remembered the key holders, all were hooks just like the old time but out of many hooks, only two keys were hang. Back in my mind (during that time).- WOW, it is full house! The place must be good then. Based on the key hooks it should have 30 rooms more or less. Not bad for such a small hotel (from outside).

I got the first room- Room No 1, which was on the first floor, exactly facing the spiral staircase. It was cheap at that time. The only disadvantage, no en-suite shower and toilet. These are outside, and its structure is more or less like toilets for dormitory. I recalled, when I wanted to take a shower (shared men-women), I saw a middle-age guy was brushing his teeth at the sink. Try to imagine - it is like an army barracks shower... He didn´t look up to the mirror in front of him. He just let the water run and his face looked down to the sink. I took a super-speed shower. I was scared as even at 1000 nobody was around and the first person I saw was this ´guy´. I finished my shower, and he was STILL THERE brushing his teeth facing down!!! I went quickly back to my room. Weird plus spooky.

My room was HUGE compared to other room that the old-man at the reception showed me earlier. The price for each room were the same at that time. He assisted me upstairs. I found it was strange because in my room, there were 3 big mirrors that whenever a person standing in the middle of the room, then you can see your body from all angle. A kind of scary. Since I have paid nights in advance (the old man insisted that I need to pay all at once), then I have to be STRONG. Luckily I have my 'Yaasin' so I read it first. Yet the spookiness remained.

Still I had to do my errands. I washed my clothes at noon. Went out for sight seeing. The reception old-man told me that I can hang them upstairs on rooftop. I went climbing the old spiral stairs and at the rooftop, I saw there was a box-like house.. very small with tiny door and windows. Erm.. what kind of hotel having such an extra room for renting like this? It looked like a storage room but can fit with one single bed. There were clothes hanger but no clothes were hang except mine. I told myself that I will pick them up at night, once I am back from dinner etc etc.. which I DID!

It was nearly 12.00 midnight, when I walked to the second floor, it was always dark (no lights), no movements, so silent. On the way up, at the stairs I saw a lady with long dark hair, wearing a pure black dress covered up her shoes. She was holding a candle. It caught me by surprise because I didn´t hear her footsteps-shoes. The stairs are made of wood and every single step a person make will make a lot of sounds. It would be impossible to tolerate that. I stopped and looked at her as she passed by next to me. She looked weird and I felt a very cool-eerie-breeze brushed my shoulder. I tried to looked down (as she went down the spiral stairs)... but she was a kind of ´gone´. At that point, I realized, that lady was not walking, she was a kind of ´flying´!!!Gosh...

On the rooftop, I saw there was light in that ´small storage´ room. There were people talking... and the minute ´they´ saw me ( I only saw one man with his undergarment.. not 2 people), the storage door closed and lights out!! Ok, might be the Greeks were not too friendly. Back to my room... pfff...

When I was in my room, trying to sleep, I heard a lot of movements. You couldn´t really see the people-guests but you could feel ´they´ were there. It started after midnight. There were knocks at my door, but when I opened, nobody there. I decided to put chairs to block my door and covered the mirrors with my kain batik and whatever I had so that I won't see any reflection. I didn't really sleep at night and I kept the lights on. There were knocking on my door all the time. Thank God I had my 'Yaasin" and it was my best companion. I felt scared, frightened and that include every single word which delivered the same meaning.

Furthermore, exactly after midnight, I smelled 'nice' perfumes (err only at night okay - during the day bad dusty smell) everywhere in that hotel. Very strong. On the contrary, it seems like the hotel is ´alive´ at night and during the day ... silent.

When we were in Athens, we saw many fliers being distributed, but never took one as the alphabets are different from roman alphabets. When I checked my email later that day, I knew what it was all about. The next day, March 5th, the strike was on again. Our flight was canceled. I was so pissed off. Luckily our flight company replaced the flight. We can choose any time or destination without any extra fares. So I opted for a flight leaving Athens on the next day.

To make the scene with extra unwanted effects, the internet was slow and kept disconnected. It took all our patience, our energy and our mood to complete everything. Rearranged the flight, re-modified the hotel in our next destination, and extended the hotel that we stayed. We were lucky. The staff worked out so we could still get the same rate as we booked. Other guests (mostly students), played and entertained our daughter while we worked things out.

So, what's the plan for next day? We went out and be ghostbusters! The truth, the hotel was really eerie and spooky. I did not have the courage to get near. So standing 20 meters away, my husband went in. He took several snaps before the same old man appeared at the reception. (We managed to process the picture where the old man is clearly visible, and our friend confirmed that he did not change at all!). He was pissed off to catch my husband taking pictures but reluctantly answered all questions posted. The hotel rate is 40 Euro per room a night and it was full house. If we want to stay we have to come again tomorrow, early morning. But, who cares! We left the hotel quickly.

Oh, there was also a lady, standing in the doorway, looking sharply with me. I tried to ignore her by playing with my daughter but at the corner of my eyes she stayed looking at me with piercing eyes. When we left she still did the same thing. Not a minute movement of her body can be seen.

Athens has been one of my dream locations since long long time ago. I expect a place which is really well taken care, developed as it is one of the places where civilization begins. Peeping out from the plane already amazed us. The city is sooo huge, dispersed, dense and it goes till the seaside. All are white due to the stone colors they used to erect the building. Excited? Of course!

When we landed, we actually landed at the new modern area of Greece. Hi-tech airport is connected with metro right to the heart of Athens. I read from travelpod that Athens is first in civilization but they only have their metro after 2000 years. I tell you why later.

The first place that we went is the legendary Acropolis. The sun shone brightly but the wind forced us to put our jackets on. Since we do not have wind breaker, we had to make use of our winter jackets. What the hell is wrong with that as long as our student card is valid here. Entry fees? Nada! We are students, ok.

Acropolis consists of many temples, Temple of Nike (Goddess of Triumph - if I am not mistaken), Phanteon, and many more that I could not remember. Most of the temples are actually ruins, so we still could not imagine how it were during the glorious day. However the best way to enjoy the view of Acropolis is from far.

Most of the ruins or structure erections are either in restoration or rebuilding state. Only few can be found free from cranes or any building machine.

This is the main temple, Pantheon. Actually this is made from real lime stone. In fact all structures are made from lime stone. We could see many quarries being dig for this purpose. And as usual, my darling significant half is complaining about the extent of such excavation, how it may affect the earth structure, bla bla bla. (Is this one of the traits of geologist?)

Taking pictures at Acropolis was really difficult. As the subject, I had to tolerate the wind and the quick toddling little Zara Humaira. For the photographer was mainly," How am I going to set the tripod on the uneven, stony ground...". Time required? - Enough to cook rice using rice cooker before every setting, and sometimes even more.

Acropolis really tested our strength and patience. First, no stroller is allowed, so we needed to either hold our daughter or walked slowly in every directions with her. Two, the location is extremely uneven, we have to climb, walk down and climb again. Three, the is only one place where we can leave our stroller. So, instead of making a cross through path, we have to create a big round circle. Pfff! Since I am easily losing weight, I have to eat more than double portion on that day or risking myself for not having energy for the next day.

The next attraction is Ancient Agora. This is also the title of latest movie of Rachel Weisz. Even tough the movie was not filmed here (they did it in Egypt), it supposed to portray this part of city.

Agora was actually a town with temples, habitual area, commercial center complete with sewerage and water system.

At the middle of the town, was (and still exist till now) a water clock. This water clock only functioning for 17 hours instead of 24. In the early days, the water well was emptied every morning. The level of risen water showed the time. So, if we were living there, at that particular time, we have to go out to the middle of the town, just to check the time. I could not imagine what if I want to bake...hmmmm

One remarkable thing that I learned from my husband was the building were actually carved stones put on top of each other in such an accurate manner where it can stay for years. He added that it must be some application of "tanggam". Do not know what is it, but as long it is beautiful, I am not a person to argue.

This building is the newest original member of all structures in Agora, dated 1000 B.C - a church. When I sat on the stone, suddenly I heard somebody was screaming something in Greek. I immediately stood up. Owh...actually visitors are not allowed to touch ANYthing. The scream was meant at me. Hahaha. (But it is just a big stone, duh!)

The commercial center has been rebuilt and turned into a museum. There are many things put on display from statues (some with uncertain figure), coins, accessories (big and small), information board describing this and that especially on ritual practices during the era. Also on show is this tomb/grave of little peasant girl. The archeologists said that it was determined by the 2 pins and bracelets which acted as accessories. The age was determined by the water jugs which were buried with her as memoir.

Then, we walked out of the ancient city. Started from Parliament (but we did not capture any photos there as the whole city was preparing for the next strike - I will write on that later), we found this old church right at the middle of a square.

Straight ahead of the church was an old National Mosque but now it is no longer being used. Instead, it placed some arts and functioned as a museum. Beside the mosque is a metro station of Monastiriki.

Athens is first in civilization but they only had their metro after 2000 years- remember? This is one of the reasons. Athens today is built on top of the old Athens. Development is really difficult. Everytime they dig a place they found an archeology sites. One of the examples is this, situated exactly in Monastiriki metro station. So besides a metro station, it is actually a small museum, proving that since the early civilization, water system had been developed systematically together with sewerage system. So, they have to both developed the country and preserve the archeological value. Maintenance cost? Don´t ask me. I think this is one of the reasons why the financial condition of Greece today is worsening.

Besides Monastiriki also located the best place in town, Athens Flea Market. Technically it is far from flea market. It is actually a place where souvenirs are easily found (and cheap) along with other items such as clothes, accessories, leather bags and shoes.

There is also a branch of street at Athens Flea Market where posh restaurants are located, serving typical greek cuisines, like these.Beside good food (with quite expensive price) we can enjoy a beautiful view of both Acropolis and Agora. Yet, I am a person who enjoying my food so I did care less. Oooo I still can savour the taste of aubergine, baked with tomatoes, spices and herbs. Unfortunately, we could not try mousaka as it is cooked with meat. I should try to find the recipe and make it on my own.

At the other side of the town, near the Central Station situated another church. The dome can be seen from our hotel, in green. We went there at the first place cause we thought it is a mosque. It really looks like a mosque if the cross is not there, right?

Milan in best for people who love high-fashions and shopping. For me, the best time for me to revisit Milan is when my pockets all full including the pockets of my immediate banker. D&G, Armani, Diesel, Gucci, Prada are among the names to visit and revisit. Surprisingly, it is more expensive than what I found here in Barcelona (some of them, but I am not keen in shopping, so forgive my limited knowledge). As shopping is not my main interest, I focus more on my visit - to see the places where Da Vinci´s code movie was filmed.

This is the one and only old castle in Milan - Sforzesco Castle's. It is a Museum of Historic Art as well as Gallery of Modern Art. The Pinacoteca di Brera exhibits collections of medieval and Renaissance art, including the work of Napoleon. Visitors also can find the last unfinished statue of Michaelangelo here.

Cathedral Santa Maria Nascente is where most tourist always got confused with Cathedral Santa Maria de Grazie, where the painting Last Supper is located. This cathedral is made from white shining marble. During a hot sunny day, the reflection may hurt your eyes, yet at night the sight is breathtaking.

This is the real place where visitors can find the painting of Last Supper by Da Vinci. To get in, pay €17.50 and you can view the painting maximum 15 minutes. The building is also protected by UNESCO due to the fact that it contributes to human civilization. (Quoted from plaque on the wall).

Have you ever find McDonald without red and yellow? It was my first time to find black and gold McDonald! I bet it meant to suit the luxury and elegance of the gallery.

Sometimes, the photographer also needs a break. Instead of taking picture of his various subjects, I took his picture in front of Prada.

In front of the old castle is a huge park. When we were there, we took the opportunity to let our little one to stretch her legs. It was amazing to see her run and climb, trying to jump and imitate us, till a lady approached us and asked whether we wanted to bring her to their agency and audition as a model. My baby as a model??!! In Milan? No way! Glamorous won´t fit in our lifestyles - punto. So those who want to be a model, why not try to start your career in Milan.

See?? The tower is just as tall as my hand reach!

All in all, Milan is better as shopping city. People go there with aim to find good quality items with names. Little can be done for sight seeing, but if you insist, it is still far from hear breaking. At least we achieved our objectives. Oh ya, food is easy to get, just spare your notes. To save a little, go outside the city center a bit and you get good, tasty halal food from Turks.

A broken dream

Fancy, savouring blini with caviar at Red Square Moscow, relishing the Cathedral of the Resurrection, or also known as The Saviour-on-the-Blood, and a walk at Peterhov, enjoying the last fall of snow...A wish will never come through unless we worked for it. Without hesitate, after discussing with my sister who is still in Moscow, we bought our flight there. While preparing the documents for obtaining visa, we watched lists of documentary, to get the grasp of what not to miss. (Ehem, that was basically only me).

From day to day, we worked on small steps towards our visa. First, we need an invitation letter. As my sis´s university refused issuance for us, we obtained it from an online private agent (the site was given by the uni).And it cost us almost 100€. But, beforehand we needed to show that we already had booked an accommodation, it cost us another 30€ as 10% deposits. As what are requested by Russian Consulate, we called to make an appointment to process our visa. The reply was discouraging. We were required to obtain it from appointed agent as the office do not process any visa application from individuals. Only agents are entertained. We started panicking.

As the ticket already in hand, we contacted an agent. As every agent on earth would say," owh...that is invalid, the further requirement are actually more than the advertised, there was a new rule, and since you are not applying from your home country we have to this, and that...and this one too. You see, the procedure is...blah blah blah". And the list went on and on. At the end, we were forced to make a choice between adding up about 500€ to our budget (which we do not have!) if we insisted to go there or to change the route and top up the difference. If we decided to proceed, still there is no assurance we will get our visa. At last the decision is made, to change the route and go somewhere else.

Like shattered crystal into thousand pieces, I see my wish turn to thick white fog. What went wrong? At this point of time I really hate them. My closes friends know how upset I am. We discuss about the political policy, human behavior including why in many Hollywood movies most villains are Russian. I am not saying that one party is better than the other, that is subjective. The point now is, I am sad because my vacation plan to visit Russia is now back in wish list. Ay blini.

Vacation spree urgently needed

Christmas just past few days ago. Even with free days to enjoy, 2 more weeks to be exact, I am weary. I have datelines to fulfill, yet my brain just does not working - at all. I feel tired, cranky and my nerve easily got me. Easily angry, fed up with things. God, I do need a vacation, exactly at this time. Unfortunately, no money no talk. Furthermore, no passport no plan, darling. Visit from my Londoner friends did change nothing, in fact I envied them for being able to have a breakaway, why not me....

I did try shopping therapy, bought my fav items - perfume. After Paul Smith, Burberry, Victorio & Lucchino, also Hugo Boss for my significant half, the trick failed. Cooking and eating? No appetite. Try to play some music - I need new string for my guitar. Write poem - do not have Zarina´s talent to play with words.

Spend my time under the sun? No sun. NO SUN - Gosh, the weather is now depressing just like England, with lots of rain. It is the WEATHER. So I have to be somewhere sunny. Again, it leads to vacation. Sigh....

My husband is a person who loves cycling and bicycle, and anything related to it, and it is a passion since he was small. Today, he went for an official race of mountain biking, the first one he does in Spain. He is not alone because Jose and Jorge are there too.

But the race is not started only today, in fact it acquires few days earlier, to be exact a month. (What a month??!!). Setting, trying, adjusting, training (which I doubt), finding equipments this, that, this, that and furthermore we live quite far from Kak Akma´s, so include the traveling too. (Okay, exaggerating, we went to Kak Akma´s place on hari raya, exactly a month before - for setting. The next visit, is for race day).

So, in the morning they put the bicycle, prepare some errr preparations..before leaving the house. We ladies stay at home as it is cold, and to go there with children who are constantly eating and easily get bored...no way! So I am not sure what happen there but..

This is the time where they waited for starting...Look, Titan Dessert tu...This is what my hubby really aim for..

But at the end, everybody able to finish safely, (mountain biking remember), coverred with mud and happy.

Yesterday , I was in the library looking for an old article from Journal of Consumer Research dated back in the year of 1978. An old one but very prominent. From the system, it was a microfilm, so but my limited Spanish, I asked for access. Then, the librarian who attended me was shocked. He said nobody has asked for his assistance for quite sometime...

I myself was startled too. I tried to recall the last time I used microfilm....hmmmmm had I used it before? The librarian and I started to make jokes (imagine with very limited vocabulary - less than 100 root words) about old movies, Elizabeth Taylor and Burton, how antique the machine was..and he is short-sighted...so he had to focus the machine till I can read the wordings cause he could not read anything. And he kept laughing (so I had to laugh with him). At the end ,I really laughed with him cause his act reminded me of my dad while he tried to read my sister´s report card without his reading glasses. (And that is the best time for my sister to get him sign it with pre-act: hide dad´s glasses).

Why I am making this blog post today? I don´t know. I have the Raya entry in due. I guess my freinds here are dying to see it. But I feel unease today. My worry creeps deeper and I feel bad. Need to talk to someone...

Ramadhan Karim

Spending Ramadhan abroad really makes me missing home. No Bazar Ramadhan, no sound of Terawikh from the mosque, no raya songs even tough I hate it. And Zarina makes it even worse by uploading pictures of breakfasting with friends and purposely making remarks on how goods the foods are. She just gave me a sentence and it successfully make me longing to go back home. (Cis Zarina!). Thank goodness the Spanish love fireworks, so at least I don´t miss Malaysian stupidity of playing `meriam buluh´until they lost hand, legs, eyes and head.

After two consecutive years here, there are some food that I really miss. So, last week I googled up for yong tau fu with soup recipe. It is difficult to find as most come with the brown sauce, yet finally....I got one. And the result is not heart breaking at all, satisfying.

Next, I bake some pineapple tart too. The look is not as promising as what being offered in the market. But the taste is really good. It even challenges some available in the market, I dare to boast as my family is very fussy about the taste of pineapple tart. I need to bake for second batch later, more artistic this time so that it looks photogenic, thus I can brag more about it here. Hahaha.

I know my dad will laugh out loud on this statement as he always said," what? you cook? Instant or from the can?". (Encouragement or reverse psychology, I myself not sure). But still, there are a lot and lot of Malaysian delicacies that I miss especially my dad´s nasi beriani, my mom´s gulai daging salai, my ibu´s asam pedas, sambal goreng, fried bittergourd (and her -never ending list) , my mak mertua´s crab curry...Aiyoh, hungry mah...Need to fill my stomach before the grumbling gets louder and woke up my baby...

Ramadhan al Mubarak

Ramadhan is coming again, and this is the third year we have it abroad - furthermore in summer time. The weather is hot, torching and torturous. It really tested my patience, with my toddler crying, and sometimes throwing tantrum. Ya Allah, please help me.

I told my husband, are we making an unwise decision to come abroad at this particular time (when Ramadan falls in summer?) But it is unfair to go abroad with aim of having shorter and cooler fasting month - he said. Yeah it is sooo true.

Another thing, during Ramadhan, I miss my family, the busyness and chaos that we had while preparing dishes to break fast, the fighting, the noise, the weakness (I am usually the weakest one) - everything.

Luckily I have my husband and daughter here. My family and in laws, including Adam, I miss you guys so much. To my sisters and friends who are abroad, do survive. Yeah, I know the feeling of missing pasar Ramadhan (except Zarina, she´s going back to homeland next week, grrr...).

Our tour ended up with a visit to Prague. A city where almost everyone who had visited told us beautiful.

It is undeniably beautiful. In addition, my love made a conclusion that any city, with a river runs through it, is beautiful. Based on every city that we had visited, all 5, yes. You are right honey.

And the river, besides adding beautiful touch to the scenery, cools down the temperature a bit. (Hey, it is summer, and the sun is torching hot). Everybody tries their best to enjoy both sunshine and water.

Again, I lost count on what the places we were visiting. Not because there were many places to visit, but this time we just walked around and made ourselves lost in the city. One thing for sure, when we were tired, we were heading back to the river bank.

And usually, besides the riverbank, he was re-ready himself for more and more pictures. The tripod - check, 50-200mm - check, 18-55 mm - check, lens covers all four - check, spare battery - check, card - check, visor - check and the list continued..

Summer in Europe is far different from our hot weather back home. It is dry, my skin flaked and itchy due to excessive dryness. Yeah I know, lotion and sun block, but these two were not enough. I kept complaining about the itchiness. And it killed my mood for providing a good subject for my crazy photographer.

Somewhere, somehow, it is just me. I love being in front of the camera and thank goodness for my camera-friendly ability. Those pictures turn out to be not bad (according to my discretion, hahaha).

And I think this guy sensed it too, so he encouraged me by capturing memorable shots with feeling and happiness. Just look at his smile.

This is a monument created by a Jewish notable lawyer named Frank .... can´t remember. When I looked at it, the first thing that crossed my mind is the aim of Jewish want to control the whole world. Master of puppet like.

At one of the parks, I found a pear tree - fruitful. At first, I wonder, did anybody eat the fruit? It´s a shame to let it waste. Then, this man arrived, shook a bough and ate the fruits. WOW! I wanted that too, so when my husband arrived, I asked me to do a favor and he got me 2 pears. (yes, I am short). The taste? It was the best pear I ever eaten, crunchy, juicy and sweet. Even Zara wanted for second one.

I remember this moment what led my hubby to take many photos of us. While he was busy taking pictures of the building, try to get the best reflection of everything on the water, a group of men passed by and teased him. "She is better than the buildings and bridge, focus on her". And we were laughing. I know that my husband loves taking pictures with reflection, so that did not hurt me.

Another place that we loved at Prague is Narodni Museum. We took a lot of pictures, with flowers and statue. There is a 'rambla' in front of this museum and many people sit and enjoy the view. Magnificent!

After a tired walk, it was either the park or restaurant. We were hungry but she did not like waiting for the food.

Luckily, when she tossed around, almost to crack a wail, the waiter saw this and came with crayons and some drawing. She was amazed by the new things. I never gave her crayons, afraid that it will go to either her mouth or eyes, but she managed well. So, next trip, I have to be like Kak Akma, stuff in lots of colouring books and crayons.

Krakow is the least part of Poland that I wanted to visit before. I have many friends from Poland, and Marcellina is keeping inviting me to her place, Little Sweden in Poland and to visit Torun. These are my first intentional destination.

However, during planning our Eastern Europe tour, my husband insisting to go to Krakow as according to the map, it is reachable from Budapest. As for me, I wanted to have Budapest-Bratislava-Vienna-Prague. He insisted on adding one destination, Krakow. And I said, no it is either Budapest-Bratislava-Vienna-Prague or Budapest-Krakow-Prague. Finally we agreed on Budapest-Bratislava-Vienna-Krakow-Prague. (And he kept asking how about Geneva? Duh..)

I don´t know what to expect about Krakow the town itself. What I know was, if visiting Krakow do not forget Auschwitz. Luckily we have Polish friends whom visiting Krakow at the same time. And our dearest friends, thank you for assisting us and being a great host. (Sorry, we could not keep up with you guys as travelling with baby really slow us down.)

Krakow is full of beautiful building, different from what I have seen in the previous 3 cities I have been. Recognize as the oldest city in Europe, no wonder it was once the capital city of Poland before they moved it to Warsaw.

I am also glad that we made this visit before they changed their currency to Euro. (The expected year is 2012, when they will host Euro Cup, but my friends told me the possibility is reducing now as their are also in crisis).

If you asked me about the expenses in Krakow, my answer is simple - damn cheap! But I know Bartek will totally oppose this. He told us Krakow is expensive, wait till we set our foot in Torun, it is even better. Furthermore, the currency Zloty is more or less like RM. We never convert any amount in Euro to RM before, but in Krakow we feel like home. Instead of Zloty, we change it to RM. (Hahaha- so called missing home).

So, we took advantage by pampering ourselves, like eating at this stylish sidewalk cafe at the Old Market square, feeling posh. Never did this in Barcelona, for we are afraid to expect what will be printed on the check.

We ordered salmon, trout, chef salad complete with a whole bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and croutons, soda, tea and coffee. And the price €17! We were more than delighted!

We really love the environment in Krakow, it is stylish, but not so congest like Barcelona. everything is almost there, really a good place for relaxing and rejuvenating. Some people might say, "hey, Budapest is full of spas for that". Want to listen to my answer? "who cares? This is my way. If I want to be in water, I prefer being naked in my own tub without anybody see me. And I can add anything from flower petals to dead sea salt, just name it, but that is not me, okay". (Sorry for being harsh).

and the big laying head. My baby loves this head, she kept walking to it, got inside and tried to make friends with other kids. But I guessed her vocab in Polish is still not enough after 6 months living with Marcellina, so she kept coming back to me.

It is summer but when we were at Krakow, the temperature dropped. It was cool and windy. Luckily I had my jumper with me, but we had to buy one for Zara. (Ladies, what do you expect? Shopping is the best activity ever!) As for my significant half, he is the one with thick skin and never bother much about the weather unless it is snowing.

I like the transportation system, cheap, reliable. It still astonishing why they build tram line in the middle of the road, and how the traffic lights turn red so that nobody will be knocked down by cars to get into the tram..

And just by walking, we had a lot of things to read like this one, telling that the street (if I am not mistaken) as one of the earliest being established in the town.

I have a lot of pictures at the castle, dragon slayer dungeon, beside the river, but at this particular momment I have no energy to upload it. I am still mesmerised by the visit to Krakow - sincerely I had not enough of Krakow. I felt sad leaving the place that night. Don´t know why, fell like home (only the weather distinguish the different - what a lame excuse!). But truly, I want to come again and I will. One day, I will....

Schilndler´s List

Besides Auschwitz, we went to Schindler´s factory, the same old one during WWII and the movie Schindler´s List. However, during the visit, nothing much can be seen as the factory cum museum was in its refurbishment and renovation.

In front of the factory entrance, at our back there is a gate with a huge iron casted wording, Schindler´s Factory. However, it had been taken down, waiting for the grand opening perhaps. The expected grand opening will be in this coming fall. (So Zarina, you have to come and look at the famous gate entrance).

The museum tells about the historic contribution of Oscar Schindler during the holocaust, saving Jews and they called themselves, Schindler´s Jews.

These Jews were producing metal products like these. There is also a documentary shown how these people worked and the operation process.

Whatever it was, the thing that really concerned me is "WHOEVER SAVES ONE LIFE, SAVES THE WORLD ENTIRE".

It was a quick visit to this museum, less than an hour for a museum lover like me. But I learnt a lot about humanity. Still at the end, we were like young mischievous kids. Now, it even make me sadder when I watch Schindler´s list. (Yes, it is true that Spielberg did exaggerate in the movie, the original Schindler´s list was only 800++ but Spielberg made it 1000++. This is not my word, but there at the museum.)

And I just realize, I love learning about WWII. No wonder my significant half keeps his reruns of Band of Brothers, Schindler´s list, Saving Private Ryan and I don´t know what else. He is this type of movie man....

" Yes dear? Movie time? Wait for me!"

Story from the past

I never imagine that war can be so harsh, beyond what I figured out from the stories from my grandparents during the Japs time. For me what have been shown in television is exaggerating, how come these (films) people know when they never been involved in wars (especially the Americans when they filmed WWII).

After visited Auschwitz, I realized that wars is worst than the films. The films only show minute part of the reality of wars. I am more than heartbroken.

Fighting for territories is nothing compared to elimination of human race, regardless who are they. At this point, I cry inside for what happened in Bosnia and Palestine. The cruelness never identify sex or age. Everybody is a victim even a newborn.

There, I read about a real experience of a Gypsy girl, they named her Sinti. On the day the Nazi took her family, her father was already been taken about a year ago. They never heard of him since. On that day, when the soldiers knocked the door, her mother was just about to breastfeed her little sister. Her mother never did, and her sister was snatched away, thrown to the corner of the caravan. Her other two brothers tried to fight, but who were they. Being kid, they invited more pain to themselves.

The whole family was taken out and lead to the nearest camp, leaving her little sister crying helplessly.

At the camp, they were told that they were going to be transported to another camp early next morning. Worried about the left behind girl, her mother bribed the officer to fetch her. Her request was only granted with condition - her brother had to do the job. So that night her brother sneaked home.

In the morning, Sinti, her mother and her other brother (younger) waited impatiently. At last they saw him - alone. No baby. Her brother said, he found nothing except showing a note. The note said the baby was taken away by an auntie and given to a Dutch family for a safe care. At least, a relief.

Later, they were taken to an area, where the soldiers were supposed to shave her mom´s hair. Her mom was crying. (Hair was shaved and sold to German factory to produce cloth)

Sinti, got angry attacked the soldiers, kicking, grunting with all her might. But what the little girl done lead to nothing. Instead she was punched and everything went black.

When she woke up, they were already in a train, crammed among many other. It was hot and stuffy. They had a journey of a day long, with no food, no water and far from what people say as comfort. They arrived at Auschwitz.

At the camp, they were segregate, man, women and children. Her older brother was taken away to be with men. Later her mother. Before they were separated, her mother took off her socks and gave each to her and her brother. The last thing that she remembered was her mother´s words to be brave.

The news later she heard was her brother was shot dead at this wall. Her mom was dead at the electric fence when she tried to run away.

Sinti and her brother were sent to a furniture factory. They were force to work without pay. Food? It was amazing when they can eat.

No later after the Germans surrendered, her little brother died due to perish. There was no news about her litlle sister who was before taken by the Dutch family. Sinti was the only surviving person of her family.

This is only a little particle of cruelness done by the Nazis. I could not imagine how if such thing happen again, medical experiment, torture, death, horror. A true horror! God forbid, please do not let this happen again.

Once upon a time, I was confused. My sister just came back from Austria and she told me that the capital of Austria is Wien. Not Vienna? Now I know, Vienna is in English but in German it is Wien. (Is it German?, not sure either). Like Slovakia, there is nothing much I know about Austria. But I do know Sound of Music was filmed in Salzburg, Austria. In 2008 Austria ,co hosted Euro Cup with Switzerland. There is a town called Innsbruck and the latest is about the monster of Amstetten.

Vienna is beyond my expectation. Beside being a beautiful city by the Danube river, it is a city of style, grace, luxury and elegance. It is the place of Strauss and Mozart. The home of waltz. I love the architecture even tough I have no idea. The only word that register in my mind is gothic style. The truth? No idea. With so many buildings, I try to remember every single one, but my mind was bewitched by the view. What I can recall are a few such as Sisi Museum, St Michael´s church, Stephenplaz and many other platz (err platz is plaza), Volks Theatre, Museum Quartier, House of Mozart, that cathedral, this cathedral...I lost count.

I do remember that this is the entrance of University of Vienna.

Regardless how excited we were in exploring the city, we still put aside time for Zara Humaira´to have her park time. We do not want to be the so called selfish parents. At least looking at the bright side, we also need time to strech our legs after the long walk and heavy lifting. Yeah, sometimes she wanted to be carried in her hiking bag instead of seating in her stroller.

So called retired fireman felt like to be in action again, but there is no fire engine, no real fire, so pumping water at children´s park will do at the moment...

And Zara said, ¨How come they can play at the water pump with daddy? He is my daddy!¨

We also spent some time at the theme park..It is big park but we could not explore everything as the cloud started to darken...or else we were risking ourselves to be caught up in rain (yes it is true, just as we arrrived at the hotel, heavy rain poured down)

I love his smile...

There are so much that I have seen in Wien but still I want to come back. I want to watch Strauss and Mozart concert which held every year between July and September, composing not only live orchestra music but also ballet and opera, just like what these girls promised me.

For time being, I need to move. So get ready baby, lets go!

Bratislava? Ahoj!

There is nothing much that I know about Slovakia. By fact, Bratislava and Vienna are the nearest capital cities in Europe, about 57km. When we were planning our trip there, I told my husband that there are only two places that I wanted to go, first `the head' and Hrad Castle.

Once we arrived there, we were set back. The train station, for me, is more or less like Stesen Keretapi Kluang plus an electronic timetable to display arrival and departure of trains. What a disappointment, but still I haven´t do some homework regarding Bratislava, so serve me right! But when we entered the city, OMG! It is totally different world.

When we were there, we did visit 'the head´, and whose able to touch it will have a good luck charm. So we did touch it.

And for Hard Castle, we were unlucky, as the huge castle is still in renovation to better house National Museum of Slovaks. So, we had to satisfy ourselves by enjoying the view. This was the only thing that we can do after a difficult climbing to the top of the hill just to see the castle. Pff! Yet, the view was remarkable!

Bratislava is stylish, little Vienna I would say. I was so undertaken by the style people wear, soo elegance, even when they just wanted to had coffee at the sidewalk cafe down the building. I felt so nobody, nothing. Pity me.

Bratislava is one of 3 cities situated at the Danube riverside besides Budapest and Vienna. At first we plan to travel to Vienna by boat. But as the boat either leaves too early or too late, train is the only option that we had. So, at 10:52, we departed to Wesbanhof, Vienna, for €11 per person for return ticket. (If you buy single ticket it cost you €15). So Vienna, here we come!

I have a friend who was once before studying in Budapest. His story is always started with, " ...there are 2 sides of Budapest, Buda and Pest, separated with a river...". That is more than enough to drag me to Budapest to see with my own two eyes, Buda and Pest. So Asif, wish you are able to read this.

On arrival, we were greeted by thunderstorm. In fact our flight was delayed. We were still lucky compared to those who were flying to Bratislava as they had to land in Budapest because of the bad weather. But the bad start did not stop us from enjoying our vacation.

Budapest is beautiful, with a lot of tram lines criss-crossing the 2 towns (remember Buda and Pest) with a lot of trees. It is really really green. There are many places to visit, from museums, monument, churches, plaza and all will take years to finish.

People in Budapest are friendly, some can speak English and some don´t. However, don worry trouble appears, there always Samaritans who will help translating, reminding or guiding. On the first morning, we met two Danish guys, tourist like us, telling almost everything we need to know about transportation. So we save some transportation allowance by using family tickets. However, telling this to the local ticket counter officer was not easy, because once the ticket is sold, you cannot change it. But, there are always people who were there to help. And we were just lucky.

Transportation in Budapest is reasonably price. One strange thing is when buying long distance ticket. Just imagine, by train, a single trip to Bratislava cost 15000 Forint, but if you buy return tickets it only cost you 8800 Forint. And the ticket officer won´t cheat you, they automatically give you a return ticket even if you ask for single. They understood travellers always look for the cheaper one.

Food in Budapest is not so difficult. We found a lot of halal food but mostly kebab or the local called gyros (gi-ros). Most of these places are operated by Muslim from Turks, no surprise as once Hungary was invaded by Turks. We enjoyed eating so much. And they serve tea in big mug too! (Okay, I am tea lover, in Barca they serve tea in coffee cup, which is far too small for a tea bag, so the taste is bitter).

And of course we took tons of picture, visiting places like museums, squares, monument, castle etc. And my darling, he spent the moment by taking various pictures of Hungarian Parliament from across the river to get the best production. For him, "Budapest? BudaBesssttt".

On 21st June 2009, we celebrated the birthday of 4 persons, my husband (4th June), Maira (13th June), Adny Haikal (14th June) and Emmy (1 July). It was a makan-makan (eating) event actually, not only for birthday but also a housewarming party as we had moved to a new place last May. Thank you everybody for coming, and the presents for little one too.

This spring, Cerdanyola Children Club celebrated their 40th anniversary. Fourty, yes that is 4 0. The people who were in this club since the early days were also there. So just imagine, they are now older than us, yet still participated in the events of the club that was once joined when they were kids. It was a celeberation. Just look at these pictures...

There were performance bu both children and aldults. They had prepared a stage, complete with places to sit. Children performance, about a tale of pirate (if I did not misunderstood) and the crowd knew the song they sang.

The end of spring

May is the bussiest month of my study, at least for this year. I manage my exam, my papers with the cost of abandoning my blog, my family, my house which is now a little bit organized than sunken ship. I even forgot our anniversary, so, I am sorry baby, did not mean to forget it, but you did see how much I was struggling to complete my revision.

Now, I long for a long cold shower as the temperature is high, a proper food (no more rice with fried chicken, after few days that was....uneadible), time to play with Zara, watching movie with my husband (err I doubt that, he is busy and usually I sleep in the middle of the movie) and summer vacation. But what had been done was worth. I pass my paper even tough a bit frustrated with silly and careless mistakes, my paper went well and hopefully I will perform during my final presentation thiscoming June 15.

So, just wait for my new updates. I have picture from weekend trip to Andorra and visits from my in laws.

During the end of May, we received special guests from home, our in laws. It was really great as we seldom have families coming over. Got some news fresh from the source (and gossips too), some dried food but above all the feeling is indescribable.

So, we decided to have some visits regardless my work was unfinished. Come on, a weekend done nothing would not make you stupider..okay.

Andorra is actually near to Barcelona, about 3 hours driving with condition, took the highway through Cadi tunnel. But as adventurous as before, we drove through the mountains, up to altitude 1600meters above sea level which cause Zara to vomit! And who the unlucky person of all? Me, as she was sitting on my lap instead of the chair. (Basically it is compulsory for baby to sit on the chair, but in our case, the chair is merely a decoration to save us from traffic offence. She hates it!)

But once we arrived there... wallah.. It is truly beautiful. Err.. Andorra is actually a skiing heaven, but we went there in spring. Most of the mountain caps were covered with snow, but no way visitors can ski at this particular time. Another attractions of Andorra are the biggest spa in the world and also a free tax country. So those who are aiming for shopping, most prices especially gadgets, branded items and pro bicycle are cheap there. (Us? We were just sight seeing).

I felt that Andorra is like having Cameron Highlands combine with Langkawi. That is the nearest description for those who are thinking of visiting Andorra. Yet, you never know till you set your own foot there. Give it a try!

In May also, our friend, Emmy and Fahmi, officially opened their bar named Warung Bali. So for those who are coming to Barcelona, and looking for place to have Asian gastronomic adventure, Warung Bali is a place to go. My favourite? mmmm , a long list I guess, like gado-gado, lumpio (spring roll), rice with chicken curry, nasi kebuli (savory rice with lamb), fried rice, beef rendang, strawberry smoothies, lemonade (really good one!) and the one that in my opinion, nobody should miss this - bubur pulut hitam (a postre of black glutinous rice). Delicious! Now, this place is a must for out date at least once a month.

The address is Travessera les Corts, 252. Open from Monday to Wednesday, 0800 till 2000, and Thursday to Saturday 0800 till 2330.

We know that my review is not enough. So, Kak Akma, I know you are going to read this too, give comments please (please, please, please). Next time we are there, we will take pictures of the food. I promise.

Feria: Flor de Maig

Spring is celebrated with smile and full of colours, not only in Germany (Zarina) but also here in Spain. In my town, it is celebrated non stop 24 hr a day for four days starting 1st May till 4th. There are many events, from parade to market, from spring cleaning to fun fair.

After settling down in our new apartment (we moved to a new one, which is my father claimed as not moving at all as it is situated about 200m from the old one), we treated ourself to the fair. It is not big but managed to get the whole town alive for 4 days, with bumper cars, rodeo, catch the duck, shooting rifle, dart throwing and mini casino of slots.

We are kind of glued to the slots, and after some 'investment' we win a big electric paella pan. So much about cooking. But the main goal is achieved, which we enjoyed ourself while my husband still has his thesis pending and I my self have 2 thick articles to absorb for tomorrow lecture. Mmmmm....
