Zara's Day Out: Sabadell

Last Saturday, we went out for a little tour combined with shopping spree event for the whole family. It was also the first day we took our baby, Zara, for a serious outing. Aimed to be a long day outside. Oh ya, in July,it is sale season. Just like Boxing Day in UK, but longer. It takes the whole month but some shops extend it to early August. Everything is discounted.

So, off we went to Sabadell, attacking ZARA outlets.By the way, my hubby and I are not the brand conscious type. We aimed to conduct a 'wanna check the price' mission. Yet then, oh my goodness! The price is unbelievable. We bought 2 shirts (one for him and one for me) and a pair of jeans for only 40 Euro. Imagine that. There were a lot of shirts, blouses, pants, undergarment, shoes, accessories priced from 5.95 Euro. Pff! I went crazy, my hubby went crazy, we were crazy. And we still talk about it. Also, thought of extending our shopping spree soon before the season ends. And we also bought the baby 2 dresses and a pair of pant for 22 Euro. The price checking mission took us 5 hours.

Later, we enjoyed the town of Sabadell. It is summer, children playing with water at the fountain. People came out, sitting at the park. We walked through the Rambla, visited the church, and the architecture is amazing. It is difficult to explain but I took pictures. So, just look at the pictures as the saying saying goes. Picture speaks louder than words.

As for our baby, she had her an 8-hour tour. She was exhausted from sleeping in the stroller, but she behaved herself very well. Bravo!

Que es honeysuckle?

A few people know what is honeysuckle. For god sake it is a flower just like rose, lily or jasmine. Honeysuckles (Lonicera; syn. Caprifolium Mill.) are arching shrubs or twining vines in the family Caprifoliaceae, native to the Northern Hemisphere. There are about 180 species of honeysuckle. Widely known species include Lonicera periclymenum (European Honeysuckle or Woodbine), Lonicera japonica (Japanese Honeysuckle, White Honeysuckle, or Chinese Honeysuckle) and Lonicera sempervirens (Coral Honeysuckle, Trumpet Honeysuckle, or Woodbine Honeysuckle). Hummingbirds are attracted to these plants.

The leaves are opposite, simple oval, and from 1–10 cm long; most are deciduous but some are evergreen. Many of the species have sweetly-scented, bell-shaped flowers that produce a sweet, edible nectar. Breaking of the Honeysuckle's stem will release this powerful sweet odor. The fruit is a red, blue or black berry containing several seeds; in most species the berries are mildly poisonous, but a few (notably Lonicera caerulea) have edible berries.Honeysuckle flowers can be used to flavor wine, syrup, sorbet, and other sweet dishes. Some perfumes also have the scent of this flower as it is really nice sweet smell.

So, next time you come across the word honeysuckle, think of something sweet and nice. It may help to ease your mind.

Verano en Barcelona, Invierno en Canberra

Summer is here. The heat is unbelievable. Luckily we are in Barcelona, the temp now is more or less like Malaysia, but those who are in Sevilla, Malaga of Andalucia, the weather can reach 41 degree Celsius easily. And yesterday they experienced 46 degree.

Summer shows the more exiting part of life in Spain. More events are being organized, yet I'm on the unlucky part, unable to enjoy it as my confinement is not over. So to kill the time, I sit in front of the computer, reading, sleeping and make myself busy with the new born.

As for my love, he has more things to enjoy. Cycling, roller blading, sight seeing etc. And the summer sale is also here. But, seldom I found my man enjoying this particular event. Proudly said, he admitted doing things alone is bored as we always do things together. Now I can't wait for my confinement to reach its end, thus we can have summer vacation, shopping and start wandering around. And for a friend from Germany, we will wait for you to visit us!
